Mr. Stewart is a member of the Cumberland County, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations, and the National Council of School Attorneys.  He is a member and past president of the Pennsylvania School Solicitors’ Association and has served as a member of the Council of the Education Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.  Mr. Stewart is the recipient of the Award for Outstanding Service to Education from the Pennsylvania School Boards Association.  He is a past President of the Cumberland County Bar Association.  He is also a member of the Corporation, Banking & Business Law Section and the Real Property and Probate Section of the American Bar Association.  He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Pennsylvania Estate Planning Council, The Greater West Shore Area Chamber of Commerce and the Allied Arts Fund.  He served as Chairman and as a member of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania by appointment of the Justices of the Supreme Court.  He served as Vice Chairman of The Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners.  He serves as Solicitor to the Cumberland County Sheriff.  He has served as Solicitor to numerous municipalities and school districts in his career.  He has also testified on numerous occasions as an expert witness in the matter of real estate.  Mr. Stewart is co-author of “Collecting Judgments in Pennsylvania.”  He has served as Chairman of the Cumberland County Republican Committee.  He serves as Co-Chairman of the Central Caucus of the Republican State Committee, which encompasses 28 counties.  He is a member of Camp Hill Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and a Deacon.  He has been named an Outstanding Young Man of America and to Who’s Who in American Law.  He was also named a Top-Rated Lawyer in Land Use and Zoning and has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America for Real Estate Law.

Mr. Stewart resides in New Cumberland with his wife, Dr. Mary Simmonds.  He is active in many other civic and business organizations.
