Janice L. Anderson focuses her practice on strengthening all aspects of the nonprofit sector in partnership with her clients so that they are empowered to improve our society and the world. She specializes in charitable solicitation law and regulation, nonprofit corporate law encompassing corporate formation and governance, registration compliance, organizational restructuring, advocacy by nonprofits, and corporate transitions. Her practice includes registering and providing legal assistance to for-profit fundraising counsel and fundraisers, enabling them to focus on delivering outstanding direct marketing services to the charities they serve.

Prior to her current practice, Janice served for eight years in the Charitable Trusts and Organizations Section in the Office of the Attorney General for the State of Pennsylvania, directing the section for five years as Chief Deputy Attorney General. In this role, she directed cases and initiatives, supervised staff in three locations, and represented Pennsylvania's interest in the litigation following the collapse of the Foundation for New Era Philanthropy. She began her service in the Attorney General's office as a Deputy Attorney General in the Civil Litigation Section, focusing on constitutional litigation and representing Pennsylvania in the U.S. Supreme Court, Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and U.S. District Courts. Before her work for the Attorney General, Janice clerked for the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania, served as the first female Public Defender in her jurisdiction, and clerked for the late Honorable G. Thomas Gates, President Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.

For over twenty-five years, she has provided guidance for charitable fundraising compliance in both government and private sectors and regularly provides board and staff training while serving as a featured speaker at various programs throughout the nonprofit community.

Janice and her husband Barry reside in the Hershey area where they raised their three children: Ryan, Brett, and Cara.
