On December 3, 2024, Federal District Judge Amos Mazzant issued a nationwide preliminary injunction enjoining the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) and enforcement of its Reporting Rule that required Reporting Companies as defined in the CTA to file Beneficial Ownership Information Reports on or before January 1, 2025.
As stated on the last page of the Memorandum Opinion and Order (page 79), “Neither [the CTA nor its Reporting Rule] may be enforced, and reporting companies need not comply with the CTA’s January 1, 2025, BOI reporting deadline pending further order of the Court.”
