We had previously reported that on December 3, 2024, a federal court in Texas issued a nationwide injunction that had stopped enforcement of the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA).

On December 23, 2024, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals issued a stay of the injunction, which meant that the CTA was once again back in effect.

In a dizzying turn of events, on December 26, 2024, the Fifth Circuit vacated the stay of the injunction, which now means that the CTA and its reporting requirements are not in effect pending further order of the court.

Johnson Duffie will continue to closely monitor this situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
