Heidi F. Eakin has practiced primarily criminal law since 1983.  She graduated from Shippensburg University, Magna Cum Laude with a major in Communications and minor concentrations in Psychology and Government.  She graduated from The Dickinson School of Law in 1985. 

She was employed from 1983 until 2007 in the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office and became the first female First Assistant District Attorney in 2000.  During her tenure she tried over 300 cases to include 53 homicide prosecutions.   

In 2007, she joined the firm of Bill Costopoulos and resumed jury trial practice of Criminal Defendants.  She is capital certified for death penalty cases and has tried 11 during the course of her career.   

In addition to Criminal Defense, Eakin regularly practices in The Court of Judicial Discipline, and the Judicial Conduct Board of Pennsylvania.  

Ms. Eakin is licensed to practice in:

  • All Pennsylvania Courts
  • U.S. District Court – Middle District of Pennsylvania
  • Supreme Court of the United States

Eakin is actively involved in dog rescue and enjoys fishing, hiking and trips to Alaska.
